Not sure how I feel about this but it's certainly thought-provoking. We created a world where so much software is open and all our systems and hardware are closed.

@sandyarmstrong Linus isn't saying to fork it over the LLMs. He's saying to fork it because he's getting older. That's my interpretation on what's going on.

Yes there are plans in place for when he retires. But maybe he knows something we don't.

I very much doubt he is actually pro LLM. But to be fair, I don't know him and he very well could be..

@westfox35 Linus's stance on LLMs is not the interesting part of this post to me. It's the way of thinking about what it means for computing to be open to all, and whether licensing is the most important component of that.
