One positive side-effect of trying out YunoHost: While digging through the app catalog I learned about open source apps and services I have never heard of before. And that's a huge plus, no matter if I will host them with YunoHost, Proxmox, TrueNAS oder whatever.

@ViP What's the benefit of Yunohost again? I'm not shitting on you, I just legitimately don't know why I'd use yunohost over something like docker compose.

I last checked into the project ages ago. Maybe it's changed??

@westfox35 I, on the other hand just recently learned about it and don't know the history. The benefit is that it's easy to set up. At least that's how it is marketed, and I can confirm that. Gets people easily into self-hosting.

I'm not yet familiar with all the technical aspects of it. But I know docker, kubernetes and stuff and from that perspective I would definitely prefer the containerized stuff. It's just interesting to me how it works in comparison.

@ViP Well, at least it seems to be well maintained. It's still going strong after all of these years for a reason.
