Are you in a rush? Because if not, just wait for the M5 mac studio to release. The Strix has 256GB/s unified memory which will turn into a bottleneck for what you're looking to do.

@limit Yeah, the pixel tablet with grapheneos (or your choice of OS) is pretty solid.

I wouldn't use stock. Stock google stuff on pixel devices has turned into a massive advertisement thing.

I have a fairly beefy dedicated server for this iceshrimp instance. But if I was running mastodon where it would benefit from multiple sidekiq servers, I'd probably just VPN a bunch of my home hardware over wireguard to this dedicated server. 1Gbps fiber at home is awesome.

But yeah, if I was renting everything and running a large mastodon instance like Stux is I'd probably be feeling very angry right about now at the hosting market.
